PROCESS

From brief to final selection

Each project is adapted to its purpose, scale and final use. The process can remain focused and compact or expand to include concept development, production and a wider creative team.

01

Brief & Scope

We clarify the purpose, audience, required formats, timeline, intended usage and final deliverables before defining the project scope.

02

Visual Direction

The concept, moodboard, styling, location, casting and visual references are shaped around the brand, product and intended use.

03

Production & Shoot

The schedule, location, team and practical details are coordinated before the shoot. On set, I direct the image while keeping the brief and deliverables in view.

04

Selection & Delivery

The project moves through a curated gallery, final selection, retouching and delivery in the agreed crops, formats and resolutions.

PROJECT SCOPE

A tailored estimate, built around the project

Commercial assignments are quoted individually because production, deliverables and usage vary from project to project. Once the brief is clear, I prepare a structured estimate and recommended next steps.

ESTIMATE FACTORS

What shapes the quote

The estimate reflects the actual scale and requirements of the project rather than a generic package.

  • Project type and level of creative direction
  • Shoot duration, number of sets and locations
  • Number of products, looks and people
  • Team, studio, equipment and production requirements
  • Final image count and level of retouching
  • Intended usage, territory and duration
  • Travel, permits and other project-specific costs

STARTING BRIEF

What to send

A complete production brief is helpful, but a concise starting point is enough for the first conversation.

  • Brand, product and project objective
  • Preferred date, deadline and location
  • Number of looks, products or people
  • Required crops, formats and deliverables
  • Where and how the photographs will be used
  • References, brand guidelines or visual direction
  • Budget range, if already defined

Production, studio, travel, team and licensing costs are itemised separately when applicable. The final scope, deliverables and usage are confirmed in writing before the shoot.

SELECTED EDITORIAL STORIES

A concept unfolds as a series

A complete fashion story moves between silhouette, styling, gesture and detail. These selected projects show how one visual direction develops across a series.

PROJECT QUESTIONS

Before starting a project

Practical answers about briefs, creative direction, estimates, production, usage and final delivery. Project-specific terms are confirmed in writing before the shoot.

What information do you need for an estimate?

A concise starting point is enough: the brand or product, project objective, preferred date and location, number of looks or products, required deliverables and intended use. References, brand guidelines and an approximate budget range are helpful when available.

Can you help develop the concept and visual direction?

Yes. Depending on the project, my role can include concept development, moodboarding, references, location ideas, visual structure and direction on set. I can also work from an existing art direction or a fully developed brief.

Can you work with our existing creative team?

Yes. I can collaborate with an art director, stylist, producer, designer, make-up artist or internal marketing team. Responsibilities and approval stages are clarified before production so the workflow remains clear.

What can production support include?

Production support may include location research, studio options, schedule planning, team coordination, casting support, equipment requirements and practical shoot logistics. The exact level of production is defined according to the project scope.

How are usage rights handled?

Usage is discussed before the estimate is finalised. The agreement specifies where the photographs may be used, for how long and in which territory. Broader campaign, advertising or extended usage may affect the final quote.

How are the final photographs selected?

After the shoot, I prepare a curated gallery of successful images. The final selection process, number of delivered photographs, retouching level, crops and file formats are agreed as part of the project scope.

What is the typical delivery timeline?

The timeline depends on the number of images, retouching level, approval stages and campaign deadline. A proposed schedule for selection, retouching and final delivery is included in the project plan.

Do you work outside Lisbon?

Yes. I am based in Lisbon and available for projects across Portugal and selected international assignments. Travel, accommodation, permits and location-specific production costs are included in the estimate when applicable.
